* Married in Egypt? *
The Bible states that Moses married a woman named Zipporah soon after fleeing Egypt at the age of forty (Exodus 2). That said, the famous Jewish historian Josephus claims he was first married to the daughter of an Ethiopian king before he fled the Egyptians (Antiquities of the Jews, Book 2, Chapter 10, Section 2)!
* How Many Left Slavery? *
The Bible states that 603,550 men, aged twenty and above, left Egyptian slavery under Moses (Numbers 1:46). This number, however, does not include women and children. It also does not include the tribe of Levi and a great mass of non-Israelites who also left the country (Exodus 12:38). Those who left bondage easily numbered at least two to three million and likely more.
* Animals in Exodus *
The book of Exodus mentions several animals for the first time in Scripture. Some of these are the badger (25:5), dog (11:7), eagle (19:4), fly (8:21), frog (8:2), hornet (23:28), lice (8:16), locusts (10:4), quail (16:13) and worms (16:20).
* A Popular Person *
Moses, who led the Israelites out of Egypt, is the third most named person in the King James Bible. He is mentioned 848 times in 784 Biblical verses! His name appears in 19 Old and 12 New Testament books, which means he is recorded in 47% of all Biblical writings.
