Gentlemen, While power rating, which includes in class record, does play a major factor in teams being bumped other factors are considered – i.e., USSSA points, umpires and area directors, run differential, average tournament finish, etc. We do our best to maintain parity in all classes and these bumps can be reviewed. You may submit an appeal to AR USSSA after your team has played in 4 tournaments. These tournaments must be sanctioned by AR USSSA with the majority of the teams being within your team’s new classification.
2015 BUMPS CLASS D – 1000 POWER RATING/1000 POINTS MAXX NUTRITION CMB DT SPORTS SELECT AR SWAG Rampage – TN Kirby Whitten Laundry - TN
CLASS E – 1000 POWER RATING/400 POINTS DSA TAILGATERS TWISTED TEES AR OUTLAWS MAYHEM/ECA DIRTY DOZEN DOUBLE HEADER TEAM PATCHWORK *McBride *Nexans *PBJ *did not meet the 1000/400
BUILDING ROSTERS We are using the same guidelines for 2015 to build a roster. I know there has been some confusion in the past so hopefully this will clarify some things: Blue chip – any player on a roster in an above classification for 2014 or that has been bumped for 2015. Red chip – any player on a roster in an above classification for 2011-2013
When forming your team for 2015 your team is allowed up to 3 blue chips and 5 chips total. Some examples: 3 blue/2 red 2 blue/3 red 1 blue/4 red 0 blue/5 red
PICKUPS There are a few changes here.
In State within your classification: If you have 0, 1, or 2 blue chips on your roster you may pick up 1 BLUE CHIP per tournament. If you have 3 blue chips you can NOT pick up any BLUE CHIPs. If you have 3 blue chips and drop “blue chip 1” so you can pick up “blue chip 2” then “blue chip 1” can NOT rejoin your roster but may join another team’s roster for 2015. Blue Chips may only drop 1 classification.
PLEASE REMEMBER THIS (WE GET THIS A LOT): Just because a player has not played in 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, and so on, does NOT make him eligible to be a red chip. He may well be considered a blue chip. Good players are good players and our intent of these guidelines are to maintain parity. We will not allow guys to come out of “retirement” and load up a team.
OPEN NITS & OUT OF STATE TOURNAMENTS: If your team is participating in an AR OPEN NIT or an out of state tournament you may pick up an additional 3 BLUE CHIPS.
PLAYING UP If your team is not playing and you would like to play with a team of a higher classification you may without jeopardizing your team’s classification. We encourage all players and teams to play up and AR USSSA will not penalize a team or player for doing so. ALL C TEAMS AND ABOVE MUST HAVE ROSTERS ONLINE BY JAN 1.
Out of State of Teams IF OUT OF STATE TEAMS DO NOT MEET THESE CRITERIA THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN AR USSSA SANCTIONED EVENTS (EXCLUDING THE BUSCH).

yes sir. You specifically asked about 1 team or teams from an area. Western TN will now be classified using the same guidelines. What can not be avoided is somewhere that we do not have control of.
For example, let's say there is a team from Idaho that wants to play in the Busch. The state director classifies them as D. It is Buzz's decision to let them in the tournament or not. We do our best to work together and make sure these guidelines are followed and will continue to do so.
