AG and MM Board

SS John Bascom

Hello,
My grandfather, Reginald J. Baker was serving as an AG aboard the John Bascom when she was sunk by a German air raid in Bari Harbor, Italy on Dec 2, 1943. He survived, although wounded. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. I would like to connect with anyone who might have a photo of the brave AG crew aboard the SS John Bascom. Even a picture of the ship would be great.

This is really great. Thank you! I've never seen this pic. The Basom was the first to open fire on the planes. I am waiting on a reply in response to create a page for my grandfather on this site.

At this time, it's my understanding that no new content is being added to this web page. Ron Carlson (webmaster for this site) can chime in and verify my statement.
I created a FB page for the NAG and have been adding pics and articles on a regular basis.

I should have mentioned he then went on to serve as AG aboard the General AE Anderson (early 1944), and the SS Minnesotan (June, 1944). Would appreciate any photos of these ships' AG crews as well.
