By way of explanation for the otherwise cryptic message posted earlier today to which I am responding: As you may know, C.A. Lloyd, the founder and long-time chairman of the U.S.N. Armed Guard World War II Veterans Association and publisher of the organization’s magazine, The Pointer, recently announced that he was retiring from those roles. For C.A., an Armed Guard veteran, it was a labor of love, in which he contributed a great deal of his personal time, effort, passion and money on behalf of his fellow veterans and their families. His is a well-earned retirement. I assume he is the “Charlie” referenced in the earlier message.
Apparently the Armed Guard / Merchant Marine Veterans Association chapter in Fellsmere, Florida, will take over the leadership of the organization and the responsibility for publishing The Pointer. This is good news for those of you who are members of the U.S.N. Armed Guard World War II Veterans Association or receive The Pointer, and indeed for all Armed Guard veterans and their families. Presumably there will be more information to come. Stand by.
Just FYI, the U.S.N. Armed Guard World War II Veterans Association and the Armed Guard / Merchant Marine website are two separate entities. The Veterans Association does not own, operate or direct the website, although C.A. and I have always been in close contact with each other.
As an aside, I really wish people would not type in ALL CAPS. It is interpreted as the Internet equivalent of shouting, and moreover it is too difficult to read quickly and easily.

Dear Ron, thank you for your correct reply. Yes C.A. Lloyd and C. Korker are still involved and are both elated that the organization will still publish and continue to support both the bravery and patriotism that both groups exhibited in American History. Pardon my excitement for using "Cap"s" but it is my way of expressing this venture, and as you already know we will also have a museum dedicated to both groups in Fellsmere, Florida. We look forward to working with you, for the website is a necessary platform for all of us and a big plus for all who read it. Sincerely, Larry Wapnick
