Shell beach LA AAA Gunnery School

Robert John Bingham AKA "Bing"
Was a Gunners Mate instructor of Armed Guards at Shell Beach LA. 1945. He mainly worked with 20 MM guns.
His note book showed names of ships and gun crews.
The notations end in August 1945.
Anyone know anything about shell beach?
