I envy John Haynes his career as a pilot. To have the ability to fly is, to me, the epitome of human endeavour on this earth. My own brief experience of piloting was a single event during my time in the Royal Naval Air Service and the plane a Tiger Moth. If I ever get the chance to be reincarnated I will request it to be as a pilot. Or failing that, as Randolph Scott.

Thanks, Bob. I feel very fortunate to have earned my Navy wings during WW2. It allowed me to continue a civil career as a pilot for the Federal Aviation Agency. The job allowed me to be based in Lebanon for four years helping to establish Air Nav Aids in third world countries all over the Middle East and Africa flying a DC-3. Then to Alaska for 36 years flying in that pristine environment, much of it in my own floatplane, "Bush Pilot" style. My last 2 years before retiring from FAA was as Chief Pilot in our Far East Operations based in Tokyo, Japan where we operated 2 Sabreliner Jets serving the Far East. Moving to Indiana, I now fly with me son, Robert. We are both very active in the Civil Air Patrol. I feel so very blessed to have been able to fly almost all my adult life. Thanks again, Bob.
