Were dedicating a Bridge to honor the late USN S2/C Basil D. Izzi whose ship the SS Zaandam a dutch converted passenger ship was sunk by a German U-boat # 174 on 2-Nov-1942 1942. He and 2 others survived adrift for 83 days off the coast of Brazil. Until finally being rescued by a Patrol Craft # 576, on 24-Jan-1943. I will post a photo of the dedication. You can google 83 days lost at sea and read the story of these brave men. Dennis
