Congratulations, Fran. Yours is a story that I hear from almost all who have had the surgery. In 1976 while stationed in Japan for 2 years as a pilot with FAA, my left eye developed a cataract so severe that I was basically blind in that eye. A Navy surgeon removed the lens but did not replace it with a new one. I tried to wear contacts to no avail. I was a one-eyed pilot. Upon returning home to Alaska my Ophthalmologist there did a secondary lens implant which restored my vision to 20/20. I never did stop flying. Now at almost 92, my right eye is beginning to fade. If it gets much worse, I will do the same as you and get it done. |
Happy April everyone. I am sure looking to some nicer weather and good fishing.
