And the reason I ultimately found myself
in the South Pacific in WW2.
Previous to this Germans had tried to kill me
in a ten hour non stop bombing raid on my home town
of Coventry.
Later as a navy air service engineer on loan to a
Spitfire squadron in Kent Germans tried to kill me
again as the first doodle bugs flew over.
Later that year Gemans in Uboats tried again as I
sailed the Atlantic on my way to the Far East.
But a lone German Uboat that had just sank an
American ship in the Indian Ocean was still about
and ready to kill me again.
