My grandfather, Luigi D'Orazio, and his brother, Augustine D'Orazio, served with the Merchant Marines during World War 2. My grandpa told me he served on the S.S. Hastings when it was torpedoed on February 23, 1943 and I have papers from the "War Shipping Administration" in Washington about medals because he "faced direct enemy action." How can I find out what other ships he served on and where he was sent during his time of service?
