My father also served aboard the J W McAndrew he passed away 2 years ago at the age of 92 .He didn't talk much about the war but in the last couple years of his life he started giving me info on his service years .He gave me pictures of his unit and told me how they did everything together eat ,drink whatever it may be always looked out for each other never left each other's side like brothers he said. He also mentioned about the convoy and other things.I have pictures of them and would gladly make copies and send them to you
