Hello, each year I participate in the Wreaths Across America program. Dad was career Navy having served in the Armed Guard as a Gunners Mate during WWII. Dad and Mom rest in peace at Arlington National Cemetery so that is where I usually place a wreath. I usually take a second wreath and walk ANC looking for another WWII Gunners Mate to place the wreath.
For 2017 I decided to stay local in Bucks County PA. I volunteered at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. I tried to follow my same tradition of finding a grave of a WWII Gunners Mate to place the wreath. I did not find one.
I did find "Walter Patricia WWII Merchant Marine 1923-2015". That is where I placed my wreath this year.
I do not know Walter and could not find any information today on the internet. Maybe Walter and my Dad crossed paths on a convoy. Thank you Walter.
