Ron I was in the vicinity of those ships when they got bombed. I was on the SS Ovid Butler Liberty. With 36000 drums of high octane gasoline aboard, unloading into small vehicles near the docks and air strip, then moving out into the gulf and wait for How5 to signal us to come back in. I didn't sleep for 78 hours after we arrived, air raids every 20 25 minutes. we got one plane credit, but hit a lot more. How did the Japs know what ships had Troops on board?
