Came upon your message while looking for information about people who were with the Naval Armed Guard during WW Two. My father was one of them too and oddly enough he was also named Francis E. Curran. He was a lieutenant, in charge of the Navy crew assigned to the Dutch merchant ship Tosari which was used to transport ammunition. I even have a photo showing me at age 3 sitting on one of the ship's guns. My mom and I got to visit the ship when it was in port in Long Beach, Calif.
