cheered with the thought that Brussels sprouts will take the
leading place in all our festive dinners.
The folks of this country have an off/on feeling about
sprouts but Yuletide unites the nation as nothing else when
they see them appear unfailingly on the table at this time
of year.
I personally love sprouts and eat them at least once a week
throughout the year. And this year for something to do with
climate there has been a bumper crop of larger than average
sprouts. My wife and I are of the opinion that these 20%
bigger ones also have really enhanced flavour.
Although a large proportion of US sprouts are frozen I was
always able to obtain fresh ones when living in California.
This state, by the way, produces 98% of USA’s sprouts.
You may find this strange but I tend to attribute my life span
which has been relatively free of ailments to be due in some
significant part to my love of the nutrition filled sprout
