Unfortunately, all I have are brief mentions of the ship in various ports. Nothing more. It was not uncommon for sailors to go overboard in the Pacific theater. Typhoons and other bad storms were relatively common and men still had to stand watch. I have read of many incidents where men were tossed overboard, sometimes they were found, other times they were never recovered. Since the claim is that he was MIA, it would infer that they were in a combat area at the time, but not clear to me how this was distinguished. Good luck hunting this one down.
