Yesterday, I along with five other members of the Camden - Kings Bay (GA) Navy League Council visited the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, Georgia, USA. We brought bags of personal care items, books, games, etc. We visit with the hospitalized veterans to express our thanks for their service and wish them the best of the holiday season and hopes for a good new year.

One of the veterans I met told the story of being on the SS Fort Lee when it was torpedoed in WWII. His name is Brad Pruitt, although he said his last name at the time was Farrington. He was one of the Merchant Mariners who survived in in a life boat. It was a pleasure and an honor to meet him and hear his stories about that fateful day.
