Also, I was really "ticked off" Christmas Eve 1944 when a few of us had gone ashore to see Army movies being shown in a warehouse on the dock where we were at Livorno, Italy. I do not recall what the movie was, but about halfway through, the air raid warning siren sounded and the projector operator said "that's it men...air raid". We ran as fast as possible the 400 yards back to our ship and to battle stations.
It was not a pleasant Christmas Eve.
THIS Christmas WAS VERY nice for my wife, me and our family members.
