Not that anyone asked for my two-cents but: do these injections contain a steroid? If they do, just be on the look-out for cushingoid-type symptoms. That's what happened to me, but on the plus side, the injections do work - partial pain diminished. Before you give up and have surgery on your back, let the doctor try a nerve ablation procedure (which is basically a needle with an electrical current which will confuse/destroy/or accelerate rejeneration of the nerve depending on the voltage and duration of the electricity applied). And the warm weather will make us all feel better!
