I just wanted to let you all know that my new book on the Dec. 7, 1941, sinking of the Army-chartered lumber carrier CYNTHIA OLSON by the Japanese sub I-26 will be published Nov. 30. The title is "Voyage to Oblivion: A Sunken Ship, a Vanished Crew and the Final Mystery of Pearl Harbor." It's the first complete story of the ship and her crew, and solves the riddle about whether she was the first American ship sunk by Japan in the Pacific War. It also deals with her crew's disappearance-a crew that included 33 merchant marines and two young soldiers. The book is available now on Amazon.com for pre-orders. I think it's a good read, but then I'm prejudiced!
