My copy of John Haynes' book came with today's mail and I'm already three chapters into it. At this point I can say without reservation that it's worth every nickel of what it cost. An unexpected bonus is Steve Myer's poem.

An aside: how the mind tricks us. Reading John's messages here, I've pictured him, as I picture us all, as a boy in undress blues. The pictures in the book show him not only so but also as a decidedly mature man.
