At the end of World 2 We were on a liberty ship in the Phillipines and got orders to start home, our destination was New Orleans, where they decomissioned the ship and I was stationed at the Armed Guard Center. It was located on an island across the Mississippi, we had to take a ferry to get over to New Orleans. I was there about 2 weeks. The name of the Island was Algiers. We had good quarters and good meals, I can't remember many details other than we all loved New Orleans.
