Tom Bowerman was indeed a Patriot. He put in unbelieveable time and effort to keep the US Navy Armed Guard "living" in the minds of us old Armed Guard sailors. His work spread the history of our outfit to others who never would have heard of us at all otherwise.
He and I communicated once in awhile, and he promoted and said some very kind things about my book.
I wll always remember him as a man of honor and integrity. I believe he was a living example of
the phrase, "Duty, Honor, Country".
