Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm well aware of our sister ships in San Pedro, and Tampa. I've seen pictures of the Lane Victory's AG quarters, but I was wanting to verify that their layout is, in fact, correct. We're endeavoring to get as close as possible to WWII configuration. During her civilian tenure, the AG quarters were converted to a workshop, and had been modified a bit.

I've been informed by some in our organization, that the Lane and American aren't as likely to render helpful assistance to our organization as one would think. I haven't verified this firsthand, and I'm hoping it's just not true, but that's what I was told when asking about contacting them for assistance.

So, anyway, I would settle for a description of the quarters, if anybody served on Victory Ships. Let me start by throwing out what we believe to be correct. Twelve metal bunks, mounted on poles at the forward end of the after deckhouse. A metal table and chairs, and a green linoleum tile floor. I understand, that with war shortages, etc. this configuration may not be the same on all ships. The bunks are metal frame, but we have two versions, one with a canvas inner and another with metal wire and spring support. We're not sure which are correct. The bunks hook into a latch on the pole, and are supported on the other end via a chain, which allows the bunk to be triced up. There are three steel poles, about 10 feet aft of the forward bulkhead of the aft deck house. Three bunks are supported from each of the outboard poles, and six are supported from the center pole. There are portholes forward port and starboard, that cannot be opened with the top bunks lowered. We're not sure how this was dealt with. Anybody remember this??? I'll be heading down next weekend, and will get some pictures of the space to help jog memories.
