Question #1 I find no ship of this spelling. I have found a ship named Susana, which was sunk
on 10/12/42 "Susana Freighter Torpedo Sunk NAtlantic Crew 27; AG 10 "
"1942 - U-221 sank SS Susana in Convoy SC-104"
Could this be the ship ?
2 Oct to 20 Oct 1942 USNH South Bklyn N Y
20 Oct to 7 Jan 1943 AGC RS. Bklyn N Y
7 Jan to 17 Mar 1943 AGC RS. New Orleans La
17 Mar to 27 Aug. 1943 (time of death) S.S. William Wilkins.
Question #2
I have very little info on SS William Wilkins. I think that it survived the war and was later scrapped at Panama City Fla. I have found it listed in Convoy HX 236 and CONVOY HX 248 "Joining from St. John's
at 15:00Q on July 21 in 46 37N 44 06W" I would like to know where ship was in Aug. 1943. I suspect that Dad's ship was hit by German Aircraft raid, but can find no proof of this. Any info would be very much appreciated.
