Common on the early FLETCHERS and many of the early BENSON-GLEAVES class units. Although never really armor grade shields, in an effort to save weight, the heavier gage shields were also replaced with a lighter weight gage shields.
The Dragon BENSON-GLEAVES and iLove FLETCHER kits have these rivets represented on their double-knuckle mounts.

On the forward turret it is covered with domed rivets whilst the turret behind with the light pole is devoid of the multitude of rivets. Why so ?

Anchor Light, not used while underway. Always mounted on the 52 mount as best I have seen. Considering how much this model manufacturer screwed up this kit, putting it on all the mounts is a minor issue of NOT putting the lights on all the mounts.
(I always liked the extension cord used in this photo. 😁 Later the wiring routing was through the top of the mount)

A few messages down from this one was the announcement of the new Triumph Sumner class DD in 1/350 scale.Looking at the photos on the twin 5/38 guns there was at the moment I'll call a pipe. Located on top of the turret behind the 2 barrels.
Causing me to go to my references. The kit has 3 of these "pipes" on top of each 5/38 turret. One per turret. My references show that the 2nd forward turret has one on the real ship. DD-692.Others of the Sumner class also received this "pipe". So what is it? A periscope for gunfire assignments? A navigation light? I don't know. So any one have a idea about this? Thanks in Advance.
