I read this book several years ago, and found it very interesting in the way the 2 navies were compared. Virtually all aspects are covered, from admin to training at all levels, and how they developed, of both services. Also, how they eventually learnt from each other, even if that was not quite so easy.
Lavery has written many books, and the ones I have are certainly worth the price. The extend from the Napoleonic Wars to modern thesis on the River class Frigates and the Battle of the Atlantic.
