It sat up to the waterline in a "bed" or "base" of latticed material, with huge thick structures extending up from that amidships to the top of the mast (and curled around portions of the mast top.) Trying to cut away the bottom portion with cutters produced discouragingly poor results, only taking out little pieces, which made the job seem slow and formidable. I sort of gave up on that and turned my attention to the midships mast supports. They had some holes in them, and cutting there quickly separated them about in half. I then discovered they were designed to break away from the mast cleanly by simply lifting them up. Satisfying.
I turned my attention back to the lower "bed." I took my knife and pushed it into the tiny waterline gap between hull and bed. It went in smoothly, and when I pried away from the hull, it peeled away. Aha! I ran my knife all along this gap, then grabbed the bed bottom amidship on either side and pulled down. No longer connected to the mast by those big supports, the whole thing peeled away in satisfyingly large sections.
I was left with a mess at the bow, where I had not run my knife well, and stern where I had not run my knife at all because the detail was totally obscured. The knife cleared the bow okay. The stern took work, cutting some with nippers to see in and find the details, then some careful knife and peeling work, in small chunks. But, bit by bit, it all cleared away. Very satisfying. It needs sanding where peeling was not totally clean, and some tiny ridges remain, and the stern detail being complex, that will need considerable clean up still. However, the amount of progress I made last night, and the time it happend in, vastly exceeded my intial estimates.
The .50 caliber gun barrel is worse than at first glace. It just plain printed poorly. It can be replaced by aftermarket easily enough.
I like this purchase! I will enjoy it immensely.

Arrived Wednesday, late, via USPS. The whole process was very prompt, in my opinion. Ordered on the 16th, printed and received by the 21st. I have only just found time to open it today, and see what I got.
Grey, brittle, "hard plastic-like" resin. Looks exactly as shown in the listing, except the .50 caliber barrel actually has "flash" on it, and needs clean up. The support structure is insane! Words can not begin to describe it. I have never seen anything like it before. It will not take hours. It will take me days to remove. I have already tried some initial cuts. Barely put a dent in it. Unless I make a mess freeing it, it should be a very satisfying purchase. Now awaiting the SEAL figures I ordered to go with it.
All on the up-and-up. Good model, with the caveat that you will be blown away by the support you must free it from.

Received the tracking number yesterday..."shipping label created." Just tracked it moments ago. On its way from Boise Idaho.

I like 1/72 scale US naval subjects, especially connected with the SEALs. I have a pair of cast resin STAB boats, the Revell Swift boat, and the Mach 2/Armageddon PBR (Armageddon being a great name choice. That kit is something of a "meltdown." Not great quality. It was relatively inexpensive, and I will get a basic build of it, but it won't be fancy, and may end up short some smaller features, but I think I can end up satisfied with it.)
I started by poking around on eBay. I was shopping a different subject, and do not recall the exact search sequence that detoured me. Ultimately, though, I found myself looking at a domestic-US printed 1/72 scale 11 meter Naval Special Warfare RHIB. I felt the price reasonable, and shipping (here in the US) was only $6. I only just ordered it yesterday. Their site says they print to order, and most orders are done within 36 hours. Their email confirmation claims I will have a tracking number in 3 business days (so, not counting this weekend.) I found the stl file available for sale...it is "out there." Nice to see someone taking it in hand and offering it.
For anyone else who might be interested in this sort of thing, here is the animal:
