In September, I could photograph two Italian patrol frigates of the Thaon di Revel class (PPA) in Taranto: Francesco Morosini (P431) of the Light version (without VLS, only X band Kronos radar) and Raimondo Montecuccoli (P432) in the Light Plus version (with Slyver A50 VLS launcher and S band Kronos radar on a different position than the X band radar):

These ships were designed as patrol vessels, but can be upgraded to frigates. Of the seven ships of the class, two Light, one Light Plus (plus two for Indonesia) and two Full were built - two further Full to replace the ships sold to Indonesia are ordered. The Italian Light and Light Plus ships will be upgraded to the Full version. The Full version has both the X and S band Kronos radar, the VLS launcher and a towed sonar.
