Over the past 2 1/2 years I have built about a dozen 1/350 scale Chinese 3D-printed warships (all battleships and cruisers), purchased from our "favorite" online auction site. These kits are, I believe, all made by either Gaga (orange resin) or SSModel (blue-grey resin). Sometimes, the masts and yardarms that come in their "cages" are slightly warped, but I have remedied this issue by waving the mast/yardarm, once removed from its cage, over a candle flame to soften and then straighten them out, generally successfully (a few I had to replace with brass rods). What I have seen recently is that some of those masts and yardarms, once glued into place on the finished model, have proceeded to warp again, in some cases a year or more after the model had been finished and sitting in a plexiglass display case. I was, again, able to remedy this situation by using heat, either from a candle flame or, when this would risk damage to the adjacent superstructures, the focused sunlight from a magnifying glass applied directly to the warped region. All this repair work necessitated re-rigging with my chosen method (stretched black plastic sprue), but the results have generally been satisfactory. I'm wondering, though, how many other builders of these kits have come across a similar problem.
