Last weekend, the Gruppo Modellisti Jonici (GMJ) organised the Modellisti Jonici Contest (MJC) in Taranto (Tarent) in southern Italy. It takes place every two years. As the name suggests, this was a competition – so there were relatively few models on display compared to a British or German exhibition. However, there were plenty of excellent models on display, including a great many ship models. The organisers also arranged a tour of the Italian aircraft carrier
Cavour at the Italian Navy’s Mar Grande base.
Here’s a first batch of photos - including three 1/200
