Two reasons I'd suspect that fine detail is often omitted:
1. Printer resolution does not allow for reasonable printing of such detail.
2. More and finer detail stretches out the print time greatly. That increases cost.
A possible third reason is it allows modelers something to add if they wish.
Just my three dollars worth.

Sometimes I purchase 3D printed models just to take a look see. I build modern 1/700 USN or WW2 USN. So recently I purchased a Benson and Mahan class DD . Nice 3D prints from the evil site done in soft black resin. You get all the major pieces but the really small ones like K-guns, radars, life rafts, ammo boxes, search lights etc. . 20mm guns yes but no other small detail. Both kits are early 1942 so probably too early for floater net baskets and MK-51s also not included.
In Friday’s mail I received a 1/700 Flight 1 A. Burke. No chaff launchers, no crew manned guns and I am still looking for what is missing. Plenty of domes though, enough for 2 A Burkes. Now one would think the EV accessory set for Burkes would come to the rescue and provide missing bits and pieces. Nope ! Just replaces parts already included in the kit.
Memo to self “if I have the 3D printed modern ship model, don’t buy the EV accessory offering”
To resolve these shortages of needed detail I find myself returning to evil site for accessories in 1/700 or turning to my scrap box looking for old Skywave sets.
I guess nothing is perfect……
