As the owner of Tom's Modelworks I can tell you that Loren Perry's 1/350 scale brass sets were manufactured by the same company and with the same metal thicknesses (.005") as Tom's. They are our best-selling sets. You may have used a Tom's 1/700 scale set once which used to be made of .003" brass while Loren's and other sets in that scale were made in .004" brass. This may be where your impressions came from. Our 3D printed sets for that 1/350 scale kit all come with instructions.
I am sure Trumpeter will one day make a 1/350 scale kit of the Titanic. It may or may not come with brass etch but there will always be room for brass and 3D improvements.

Not a fan of toms brass. way too soft and thin, very hard to work with and not as nice as Loren's brass.. I use a bit of it though..there is a nice 3 D upgrade set as well, but no instructions come with it!!! Not sure what it is with the chinese not including instructions with there upgrade sets, but I have had that happen often even with photo etch sets..

There are a few brass sets for that kit still in production! Eight to be exact and a full 3D printed set of lifeboats with Welin davits. A nice set of 3D printed anchors is available also. Gold Medal wasn't the only source for details for Titanic.

true statement, I am nearly 100% sure Academy will not re issue this old kit as the molds are worn out..also, academy has like 4 or 5 of their own titanic kits with newer tooling the largest being 400 scale.. someone needs to step up and do a new tool 1:350 Titanic, maybe Trumpeter, very fire, someone i am looking into produce a couple sets of brass for both titanic and lusitania, we will see how it goes..

Minicraft went out of business in 2022. Perhaps the molds are in the possession of another manufacturer. I hope so.
About 2018, Minicraft had announced that they intended to release a 1/350 scale Olympic kit but it didn't happen, unfortunately. I would have liked to have seen it.
For all it's warts, the Titanic kit in 1/350 can be made into a winner.
1/350 Titanic funnels remain among our best sellers but I must admit, sales have been noticeably slowing since Minicraft went out of business.
Hope a fellow modeler can help you out with that PE set. It's quite nice.
