I have NEVER washed model parts 
when I was using Model Master Enamels they stick to most everything, now that that's not available, I simply spray everything with a good auto primer then you are good for most of the water based crap offered today hope this helps

Guys for many years before to go to build a model
. I would wash the parts first because of releasing agent put into the moulds to the parts after being made.So I would have a clean surface
to paint on.
Model moulding supposedly advanced over decades with CAD and something called Side moulding. So do I still have to wash the parts? My Revell 1/72 PT-160 was made in 2022. Any one with any insight on this matter. TIA Craig
