some small sketches and fotos can be found of most of the ships mentioned in an old book by Terzibaschitsch, Das FRAM-Modernisierungs-programm der US-Navy (Lehamanns Verlag, 1975).
His book on US Destroyers also has some details.
Sumralls book on the Sumner/Gearings is not quite as helpful as I thought it might have been.

Are there any drawings for Gearing class DDK/DDE, especially USS Carpenter (DDE-825) or USS Robert A. Owens (DDE-827), but also USS Basilone (DDE-824) or USS Epperson (DDE-719)?
