
They charter tankers to keep the AOs filled and shuttle AEs and AFSs for the tankers.
Not only are we short on combat ships, but the logistical supply line is perilously thin for war situations.

dont know what has gone wrong with the food and household, but the AE and AO have been busy the AE collecting missiles from all the other fleets, and avtur from wherever they can find some!

I don't know what's current, but that is what an AOE is for. They ride within the carrier group, and are kept supplied by shuttle ships. Since there are now only two of those currently in service, there aren't nearly enough for all the groups. I then suspect it's mostly shuttle ships now. In theory, the other types can ride in the group, but they would also need shuttle ships, and AOs would only provide fuel, AEs ammo, AFS stores, etc. So more than one logistic ship would need to ride in the group. That's what makes the AOE what it is...gathers everything, then rides in the group and distributes. "One stop shopping."

Does having 5000 crew onboard mean a supply ships is always with the task force? You know a floating larder?
