it was a good thing I was home when this happened or it could of been a lot worse.

YouTube has its share of pets starting fires. This now sounds more serious than you first indicated. Certainly bad enough, but now even more glad it was not worse! One of my other stories involves the house next door to my family being gutted by fire, killing all five occupants. Fires are "serious shit." Learning you need to buy a new stove is far preferable to other possible alternatives. Relieved you, your family, pets, models, and home in general were not more involved.

that sits on the counter top alongside the stove top, it shows more extensive burn by the front element compared to the rear element leading me to believe the front element was the 1 that started the fire. as I had not used the stove as I had made a baloney sandwich, I believe 1 of my cats was on the upright that has the control knobs facing the stove top, slipped & accidently turned that element on causing the stuff sitting on that element to catch fire. cannot prove that because when I checked to the knob's post rotation, I found both right side knobs & their posts were melted. this is my 2nd kitchen fire I have dealt with as the 1st was in the early 90's in Toronto when my landlord's daughter who was home from school accidently caught the drapes in the kitchen window on fire & called out my name for help. I put out the fire, helped cleanup the mess then told her parents when they got home from work on what had happened.

Glad it was not more serious than that!
When I was a "mature and sophisticated 16 year old" (said in full sarcasm) my parents left me to babysit for my sister, six years my junior. From the kitchen, I heard my name yelled in a panicked voice. Arrived to find a frying pan eminating flames. Grabbed our fire extinguisher, a powdered chemical device. Shot white powder basically "all over the kitchen." It hit the pan, extinguished the flame, but bounced and scattered. My parents returned home to a "white Christmas" kitchen. My father pointed out that clapping a lid on the pan would have had the same result with less mess, but gave me "high marks" for realizing that's what an extinguisher was for, and not letting the place burn down. The mess got cleaned up, and life moved on. I've got four other fire stories I could tell. I've dealt with fire. Never a good experience!

as I had to get ready to leave to a friend's place but then had to deal with a kitchen fire. located on the right side of the stove top, ground floor was full of smoke. put the fire out with water, nothing was turned on on the stove as made a sandwich for lunch & nothing plugged into stove top receptacle as that was done the previous night.
