Most enlightening. It seems that 1-1.5mm be shaved off the top of the torpedo bulge be in order as it shouldn't be vertical as in the model kit.

I've the Trumpeter 1/700 scale model of the USS Maryland 1941 and was wondering if the torpedo bulge on this kit is too wide especially at the top just below the main deck ? The gap at the top is between 3-4 mm wide. Should it be reduced to a thinner profile. I have the Five Star photoetch update set, some turned metal barrels, a ED Model Parts Colorado fighting tops and the cage mast set from Tom's Model works for this model kit.
