If this thread wants to discuss the pros & cons of electromagnetic catapults vs steam, that's fine. But it WILL NOT become a political diatribe either for or against.
I will note however that the current US carriers under construction are still using electromagnetic systems. Also, the French have placed orders (or will shortly) for electromagnetics for their new carrier.

Turning a discussion about steam catapults into a pathetically vailed political statement. That is really beyond bizarre thought patterns. The moderator needs to pull this thread down.
