"Harrier Sundown" held at MCAS Cherry Point NC from 1 - 4 June 2026 marked the retirement of the Harrier from USMC service. VMA-223, the last Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier II Plus squadron, hosted the commemoration of the aircraft's 50+ year career (including both the AV-8A and AV-8B variants) with the Corps.
