Hi Michael,

As far as I can tell from the photo I have of her at Bremerton Naval Shipyard in JAN 1941, she has an external degaussing cable fitted port and stbd. The photo isn't clear enough to show details of the cable itself, but does show that it was secured in place to the hull, with clamps approximately every 4 feet.
