
Heavy icebreakers, especially Arktika-class vessels like the Yamal, are never equipped with bilge keels.
Any protruding lateral appendages would be instantly torn off or damaged by ice blocks sliding along the hull during icebreaking operations.
Instead, the kit accurately replicates the smooth, egg-shaped hull of the real ship, as well as the prominent shaft bossings at the stern designed to protect the propellers.
