Dick did a massive amount of work to preserve the factual history of the PT boat forces in WWII. The forum was a great resource as it was populated by many knowledgeable folks such at Ted Walthers, Frank Andruss, Andy Small, and others. He ran a taut ship and weeded out the chaff very efficiently. He was a graphic artist and created some really excellent cut away drawings of the boats. A couple decades ago, I sent him five reels of 35mm microfilm of Elco drawings that, at his own expense, he turned into CDs and made them available to all. And, to top it all off, he was just a nice guy. He will be missed.

I'm sorry to report that Richard "Dick" Washichek has recently passed after a short illness. Dick was the creator of the PT Boat Forum site. Currently the forum section is offline. I'm going to check and see what can be done to maintain this valuable resource to those interested in these wonderful boats and keep Dick's work alive. Keep Dick and his family in your thoughts.
