This is my build of USS Constellation done from the 1916 Spring Styles drawing. these "scouts" were armed with 10 14" guns and designed for 35 knots. A lot was sacrificed to get this desired high speed, armor of only 5", a long narrow hull which required the triple turrets be placed at the wider parts of the hull, and so many boilers that some of them are on the Main Deck.
I made the hull from an old Fujimi USS Lexington kit. I still had to cut away most of the hull.
The rest of the model is scratch built or parts I drew out & printed. I used the USS New Mexico style bridge and mast details, those ships being from about the same time frame.
