Pretty much every serious camouflage researcher for the various eras and navies has taken Mal's so called "research" apart over on Facebook. He lives in Australia, has done no actual original source research, relies on old books that have long been surpassed, invents schemes and colors he pulls out of his ass for online games because they look cool and almost never gets color names correct. He routinely gets bent out of shape when corrected then blocks the person correcting his false bullshit. Once the one sort of real published caught on to his bullshit they dropped him and since he has used vanity press and websites to promote his crap.
As an example he had a post about US DDs and Measure 2, not one correct color call out (5-X and correct name) instead he used vague terms like light blue gray, medium gray blue, dark bluish gray. Then he used pictures of Measures 12, 18 and 22 claiming they were Measure 2. He may have had a single example of Measure 2 but it's been a few years since I last saw and corrected that particular piece of bullshit.
Mal Wright doesn't even rise to the level of bad joke.

Has Mal Wright ever chimed in on this issue? I am curious now as to how he came up with the colors.

I used to have some info from an excellent German source about High Sea Fleet colors. I lost it, and now I am about to copy the colors used on a Hamburg naval museum's Graudenz. Does anybody have some good information on this subject? All I recall is that Kriegsmarine RAL colors are not right for WWI. Many thanks.
