Keep in mind the UV backed acrylic resin used in 3D printing is very hard and difficult to work... except with an ultrasonic cutter with a variety of shaped blades and special "tongue" for polishing.

We are not talking about 1/72. In my case, it would be 1/700.
I agree that is possible to do that conversion. But an already adapted 3D printed model would be likely finer.
