I have NOT purchased this. So, I can't answer your question except to say that the photos provided of the product do seem to show that problem.

Hi Ralph,
I read in your post that you purchased the USNS Supply T-AOE-6. I was interested too, but the photos of the model the aft hull give the impression that the hull widens under the flight deck, when in fact it doesn't. Does the model you own show this oddity? That's why I've held off on purchasing it so far.
Thanks for your help.
Regards.
Maurizio

Oh...around $130 dollars, plus...

(You're right. He didn't say.)
JLing, the only two printed ships I have are a GAGA Calypso, and my 3D-Wild Constellation FFG. I don't have enough trust in "ebay china" to invest any more in it than that Calypso. It is a nice little model (emphasis on "little"...inexpensive/worth the risk.) It was bought with photos of the product shown. I personally will not go for anything that only shows CAD images (especially for that price.) So, you won't find me investing in this, thus unable to be at all helpful. Sorry.
IF (big IF) I were to "experiment" with something like this, I would get this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/375378898236
Because photos of what I would get are provided (and it is cheaper, and the vendor's rating is better.) No full hull, so it is not on your radar, I understand. But, this-all is "what it takes" for me to even consider risking my money (and I currently have zero plans to purchase this.)
Sorry I can not be more helpful. Good luck to you (and yes, if you do decide to take the plunge, we'd all be very interested in the details of your experience, good or bad.)

Why not take one for the team, buy one, put it together (if needed! they're usually all printed in one) and paint it, and then let us all know what you think?

Hi everyone, I just spotted new releases on Micro-World-Model, "3D Printed kit 1/700 Lewis and Clark-class dry cargo ship Uncoated" and "3D Printed 1/700 USNS John Lewis (T-AO 205)Unpainted Model Kit". Since the quality of 3D printed kits vary greatly, I would like to hear your voices before I place order. Thank you so much in advance.
