I totally understand Hobby Boss's position, actually.
I have never disagreed that the Dragon kit is the lesser of the two. Anyone gifted enough with rudimentary scratch skills will get much better results from the Hobby Boss kits. That said, I think I have sufficiently stated my reasons for sticking with the Mustin. I am not advocating that anyone follow me, merely stating my position. I am an "assembler," not a builder. I make my choices accordingly, and live with the consequences. However, the advice you and JLing are putting forth is perfectly sensible and sound.

Yes, it is unfortunate that HobbyBoss did not make a later Flight IIA, IIA Restart, IIA Technology Insertion or Flight III.
I think that Dragon's Flight IIA is really catastrophic - the too short hangar (1 cm in 1/700!) is very visible, e.g. also by the way too small VLS. The rear 64x VLS is almost the same size as the forward 32x VLS!?
I think that the rear Phalanx position is not so difficult to make using some plastic card. At least much easier than somehow correcting the Dragon kit.
