And me! My uncle served aboard HMS Oribi from commissioning until the liberation of Copenhagen in May 1945, most of the time as gun captain of B mounting. He was hospitalised in Copenhagen with tuberculosis (from four years of service in cold wet conditions) but that was how he met his wife, who was one of his nurses in the hospital.

This interests myself as my father did some of his national service on the HMS Obdurate during the early to mid 1950's. A better replacement for the old Tamiya kit with its problems. Previous Message
