The algorithm on the 'Gram matched up and I checked what they offered. SAAR boats, offshore patrol boats, some secondhand RN types in Chilean service. They're showing pix of a new 3D Tarawa. All the popular scales. I asked, with the tariff situation could they ship to the States? Yes, we ship internationally by FedEx and the tariffs are included. This was mid-November. I made a small test order. Order form said 20 to 40 days -- Okay - its print on demand, and it will be in time for Christmas. Next day comes a reply - thanks for the order - it will be dispatched on the next day. Great.
Now FedEx says that Santiago, Chile to Houston Texas is 3 days. Let's give them a couple of days on the front end to get it to the airport from wherever and a couple more on the back end to clear customs. I'm 4 hours from Houston Bush airport. Easy-peasy, I'll expect it after Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving comes and goes. 20 days comes and goes. I write, hey how about a tracking number incase it is still in customs or a porch pirate got it. No response. A week later I follow up, hey do you have a tracking number? Ghosted.
A week later I contact PayPal. Didn't get my order and the seller is not responding. PayPal says they will act in my behalf. Provisionally they refund my purchase price [Yay PayPal]
A week later PayPal writes that the problem is resolved in my favor. I check the activity log and it looks like they may have ghosted the money men too.
Long story. I feel better after getting it off my chest.
